SAHS Students Attend March for Life
SAHS students attended the 44th March for Life in Washington D.C. on Friday, January 27. The March was tabbed as one of the largest in its 44 year history with crowds estimated at well over 500,000 people. Vice-President Mike Pence was one of the main speakers at the rally. The St. Anthony Group departed the high school on Thursday afternoon arriving in Washington at 7:00 a.m Friday morning. They were able to tour some of the sights before meeting with the rest of the Springfield Diocese attendees for Mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church near the Capital building. THe rally begian at noon near the Washington Monument with the March beginning from there at 1:30. The students and chaperones then Marched with the other 500,000 or more attendees up Constitution Avenue to the Supreme Court Building. It was a very peaceful and energetic event. After the March, students were able to visit some museums and then departed Washington at 6:00 p.m. arriving back at the high school around 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
