Faith

Building leaders in character and faith.

As a Catholic school, we find Christ in all we do. Jesus Christ is central in all of our teachings and course offerings, and we welcome students of all faiths. Students are empowered to explore and grow in their faith throughout the total experience of each and every day. We are blessed to be able to offer students daily faith formation opportunities.

Faith in Action

Community service is faith in action. We hope to foster within our students an understanding of their call to share of themselves for the common good, living the example of Jesus Christ by performing service for the community and the Church.

Our Christian Service Program is designed to instill community service as an integral part of their lived faith. As a graduation requirement, students must volunteer at least 60 hours over their high school career, at service agencies, school & church functions, and within their own neighborhoods.

Spirit building Retreats & activities

St. Anthony students are encouraged to participate in activities such as mission trips, March for Life, World Youth Day, and more.

Annual retreats are also a tradition, beginning with a one-day retreat for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors leading up to a multi-day retreat for seniors.

Every Spring we have a “Retreat Week” where the Freshmen, Sophomore and Junior classes go off site for a day of talks, discussion and prayer. The senior guys and girls separate their senior year and each attends a 3 day retreat focusing on their relationship with Christ and His Church.

  • Every year we invite dynamic speakers to the high school to share their journey of Faith. Past speakers have included Matt Fradd, Leah Darrow, Sarah Swafford, Abby Johnson, & more!
  • An Annual Day of Healing is offered each year at the high school.
  • Campus Ministry leaders are formed in the faith annually through intentional discipleship training and conferences.
  • Each year, we participate in activities and events that foster a better relationship with Christ and His Church.  A few examples include:
    • FOCUS SEEK Conference
    • National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC)
    • Newman Visits at EIU, SIUe, and UIUC
    • Vocations Trip
    • Monastery, Seminary, and/or Convent Visits
    • March for Life
    • Catholic Heart Work Camp
